Soprano Anna Veleva has received international acclaim as one of today's most gifted and versatile Opera singers. She performed at Carnegie Hall - "Stern Auditorium", J.F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, The National Palace of Culture in Bulgaria and other prestigious venues.
Anna has toured in major theaters in the US represented by the Columbia Artists Management appearing in leading soprano roles such as: Lucia di Lammermoor, La Traviata, Rigoletto, La Bohème, Carmen, The Magic Flute and The Barber of Seville.
Important figures who worked with Anna are Placido Domingo, Renata Scotto, Aprile Millo, Gena Dimitrova, George Zlatev-Cherkin son and Alec Baldwin.
Veleva has a Masters degree in Voice and Opera Theater. She graduated from the "Mannes College of Music" at New School University, New York and the State Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Her additional training includes: Alec Baldwin’s Master Class Summer program at Southampton College, Method acting, Meisner and Alexander techniques.
She represents the Vocal Method of her grandfather Georgi Zlatev-Cherkin, most distinguished Professor of Vocal Pedagogy in Bulgaria. Among his students were world-renowned Opera stars such as: Ljuba Welitsch, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Alexandrina Miltcheva. Anna applies and develops the techniques of effortless singing and furthers the careers of her students who win Vocal competitions and enjoy successful singing careers.
